More than the Face

This series of photographs shows my partner and me in everyday scenes wearing paper masks of our own faces. I am interested in the uncanny quality of the masks and how the facial features demand a narrative. Even though the photographs show "reality" and the masks flat, elementary drawings, the expressions are somehow more believable than the bodies, and in lieu of hiding emotional elements, they appear to reveal them.
