Music moves me profoundly—I feel it deep inside my brain and all throughout my body. This painting is about the feeling of music that happens in the indigo/violet space.

This mutated daisy is from my “Clean Energy” series. It’s a combo of watercolor, ink, and hand-drawn collage (my term for drawings of mine that I cut out and collage into other works- as opposed to collage that comes from other visual material-magazines, newspapers, etc.)

The original found another home years ago, but it continues to be one of my more popular prints. I wonder if this image solicits conversations about nuclear energy and climate change from the living room walls on which it hangs, or if anyone thinks about this image like a sound, as I do.

Either way, I think weird beauty is appealing and worth noting.
